Advancing Human Rights and Gender Equality in Montenegro's Migration Management
Bar - Capacity building in domain of human rights and gender equality in migration management context, that was initiated in May in Podgorica, is continued in northern and southern regions of Montenegro (WBCAP).
Front line officers of Ministry of Interior of Montenegro and Centers for Social Work in direct contact with migrants, gathered at the two Trainings on respect, protection and promotion of basic human rights and gender equality in migration management context organized by IOM in the municipalities of Berane and Bar.
In line with the comprehensive and concise training plan adjusted to the national context, through lecture and practical case studies, participants got acquainted with the key concepts: human rights principles, application of human rights obligations in the context of mixed migration and border management, protection of migrants in vulnerable situations, gender implications and gender mainstreaming measures to advance gender equality and institutional transformation in border management.
The activity is organized within the regional initiatives Western Balkans Integrated Border Management Capacity Building Facility – WBIBM and Western Balkans Readmission Capacity Building Facility – WBCAP, funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and implemented by IOM.
