Exploring Outreach Enhancement and Capacity Building for AVRR
From October 2nd to October 6th, IOM Montenegro hosted colleagues from the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) team at IOM Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking a collaborative effort aimed at exploring outreach enhancement and capacity building for AVRR in Montenegro.
The primary objective of this initiative was to meticulously assess and identify opportunities to strengthen Montenegro's outreach system while deliberating potential avenues for capacity building within the AVRR framework.
Throughout their visit, the delegation engaged in insightful meetings with key stakeholders, including representatives from the Centres for Social Work in Danilovgrad and Tuzi, the Center for the Reception of Foreigners Seeking International Protection in Spuz and Bozaj, and fruitful discussions with the Department for Reintegration. The collaborative efforts extended further with meetings involving the IOM Mobile team in Montenegro and IOM staff in Pljevlja and Rozaje, providing a comprehensive understanding of migrant hotspots and trends.
This event served as a valuable and forward-looking opportunity to discuss the future development of the AVRR program in Montenegro. The exchange of experiences and identification of exemplary practices will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing enhancement of outreach strategies and the overall capacity building efforts within the AVRR framework, fostering a more effective and responsive approach to voluntary return and reintegration in the region.
