IOM Montenegro Strengthens Expertise in Cash-based Interventions Through Specialized Training in Brussels

Brussels - OM Montenegro had a chance to attend 4-day planning course on Cash Base Interventions in Brussels, Belgium from 09 to 12 May. The IOM CBI Planning course is a training for staff responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring CBI (both from the program and resource management sides). This course is structured around the project cycle and covers all the key skills required to design, implement, and monitor CBI. It is focused on a technical and programmatic perspective and incorporates examples from multiple sectors and contexts. 

The participants were trained to determine modalities and delivery mechanisms, describe how CBI needs to be integrated into the role of different teams throughout the project cycle, explain what assessment information is needed to inform response analysis, use market information to inform modality choice, rationalize and justify the use of different modalities to meet different program objectives, manage programs with greater skill and confidence throughout the CBI process, understand how CBI can contribute to response objectives, identify the information needed for monitoring CBI as well as to identify how collaboration and coordination support quality CBI.
