IOM Provides Support on Direction of Forged Documents through Capacity Building Activities
From the 11th to the 15th of December 2023, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) concluded the third and final set of comprehensive training sessions on the Detection of Forged Documents in Kolasin. These training sessions, constituting a pivotal component of the Western Balkans Integrated Border Management Capacity Building Facility (WBIBM), have successfully enhanced the capabilities of border control officers in detecting forged documents. The culmination of six training sessions marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to fortify border management and security in the Western Balkans.
The extensive training activities orchestrated by IOM play a crucial role in the broader mission to strengthen border security and management in the region. By arming participating officers with the knowledge and skills required to adeptly detect forged documents, these initiatives propel the Western Balkans forward in addressing potential threats, ensuring heightened security measures, and preserving the integrity of border controls. The commitment to robust capacity building reflects a proactive approach to the evolving challenges faced by border control authorities, positioning the region to navigate and mitigate complexities effectively.
As the capstone to this training series, IOM's dedication to empowering border control officers underscores its commitment to fostering a secure and resilient environment within the Western Balkans. The outcomes of these capacity-building activities are anticipated to leave a lasting impact, equipping officers with the tools necessary to maintain vigilant and effective border controls in the face of dynamic security landscapes.
