Merging Forces to Enhance Cooperation in the Field, With Focus on Vulnerable Groups
IOM Montenegro hosted the third meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group, focused on developing procedures for addressing migrants in the Reception Department Center at Bozaj with a special focus on vulnerable groups.
During two productive days, representatives from various organizations, including the Ministry of Interior, Border Police, IOM, UNHCR, Red Cross, and the Center for Social Work, collaborated to finalize operational procedures to enhance cooperation in the field.
Our Chief of Mission expressed full support for the development of a tailored Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Bozaj Reception Center, that should be in line with the international and EU standards. Once this SOP is fully implemented, they will also support Montenegro aspirations for EU accession, he mentioned in his opening remarks.
This SOP development is part of the "Instrument for Capacity Building in the Western Balkans for Integrated Border Management (WBIBM)," implemented by IOM with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
