Regional Round Table on Enhancing the Criminal Justice Response to Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling
IOM continues to actively support the WB partners in strengthening their responses to the overall migration governance. In order to provide a platform for continued dialogue at the regional level and facilitate key operational conclusions and actions, IOM organized a two-day Round Table Discussion as a platform for the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions amongst peers coming from the judiciary, law enforcement, and relevant agencies/organizations included in the enhanced criminal justice response.
The proposed topics and format of the Round Table follow the outlined measures in the Action Plan for Sustainable Migration Governance in the Western Balkans 2023-2025, with specific focus on:
- sustainable remote interpretation solutions
- victim-sensitive approach within the judiciary
- role and harnessing of digital evidence in judicial proceedings.
This activity was organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark through the project 'Regional Support to Protection-Sensitive Migration Management in the Western Balkans – Phase III.
