Strengthening Border Security: IOM-led training empowers officials to detect forged documents in Western Balkans

In a significant endeavor to bolster border management capabilities in the Western Balkans, the second series of trainings on the Detection of Forged Documents recently unfolded in Kolašin. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Vladimir Gjorgjiev, the Chief of Mission at IOM Montenegro, who extended a warm welcome to all participants. With six training sessions planned under the Western Balkans Integrated Border Management Capacity Building Facility (#WBIBM), this initiative marks a crucial step toward enhancing the region's proficiency in identifying forged documents.

The comprehensive training sessions are poised to play a pivotal role in the overarching mission to fortify border management and security in the Western Balkans. By equipping participating officers with the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively detect forged documents, the initiative aims to elevate the collective capabilities of the region's border control mechanisms. This proactive approach not only

addresses potential threats but also underscores a commitment to bolstering security and maintaining the integrity of border controls in the face of evolving challenges.

The shared commitment to fostering a well-trained and adept cadre of border control officers reflects a broader dedication to creating a secure and resilient environment within the Western Balkans. The outcomes of these training sessions are anticipated to have a lasting impact, contributing significantly to the region's ability to navigate and mitigate the complexities of border security effectively.
