Visit to IOM BiH: Strengthening Capacities and Sharing Experiences in Migrant Support
At the beginning of July, our Migrant Protection Assistance team from IOM Montenegro had the honor of visiting colleagues from IOM BiH as part of a study visit conducted within the project "Responding to Mixed Migration Flows in the Western Balkans," funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.
The goal of the visit was to strengthen capacities and exchange experiences in working with migrants. During the visit, our team had the opportunity to learn about:
• The methodology and approach of the AVRR program
• The work of #DTM
• The management structure in temporary reception centers
Our colleagues from IOM BiH introduced us to their practices in providing assistance to migrants in temporary reception centers, giving us insight into the dynamics of support in complex migration situations. Exchanges like this are crucial for enhancing our programs, providing better support to migrants, and gaining knowledge on migrant protection.
We thank our hosts from IOM BiH for the warm welcome and valuable insights as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway for their support!
